Court was at the Back Door Cafe in Roosevelt eating lunch with Geoff (Missy's husband) and there were 6 young people that had stopped to have lunch. They had arrived in a big red bus. They asked Court if they could see the river, so he invited them to the ranch. They accepted his invitation and all 6 of them spent the night in our new cabin. We fixed a huge dinner for them...totally "southern style".
Patsy told them they would not meet anyone in Texas with more of a southern drawl than her. lol
They are all from Denmark, one is Asian and was adopted and raised in Denmark. They are all college students traveling the states since June in their bus they totally repainted by hand, and made into a sleeping quarters. Very tight quarters too...so to stay in our new cabin was a luxury for them.
They began their trip in Vancouver B.C. and will end up in New Orleans, Louisiana. They have to be back in Vancouver by December 21st, before their visa expires.
They were in awe at the deer hunting. They had never owned a gun or shot one. Court showed each one how to shoot and they tried firing at a target. It was quite an experience to watch their reaction, all were thrilled. Geoff actually took one of the girls to hunt out of a deer blind. He killed a deer and she was a real ‘trooper’ about the experience.
They were so interesting. All ranged from 22 to 26. Talk about polite, wish the US kids had those kind of manners. All of them spoke English, Spanish, German and of course Danish. They are really beautiful people.
It was an experience we will never forget with memories we will cherish forever!
